Scope

GRC/GRG

Masar development in Makkah is a major urban development leading towards Masjid Al Haram, requiring disciplined planning and controlled execution in one of the Kingdom’s most active environments. Our scope included the full exterior GRC package for the parking terminals and façades, along with GRG interior works for the lobby and underpass areas, all delivered in coordination with strict site access and city movement requirements.

Material deliveries, production cycles and installation sequencing were aligned with non peak activity to maintain steady progress. The GRC systems were engineered for durability and visual consistency across large elevations, while the GRG components required precise moulding and installation in technically constrained environments. The final works meet the architectural expectations of a landmark destination near the Holy Mosque.

Challenges

Several site and installation conditions required a controlled approach:

  • The project required disciplined planning and logistics due to its location along a major pilgrimage route, with forecasting, coordination and controlled site movements aligned to Makkah’s operational rhythm.
  • Structured workflows replaced conventional progress methods to maintain steady, uninterrupted installation during periods of high visitor activity.
  • Large scale GRC façades and precise GRG underpass elements demanded strong structural performance, consistent finishing and accurate integration with architectural and technical systems.

Our Solutions

Technical Approach

  • GRC panels were engineered for the large spans and exposure conditions of the parking terminals, ensuring structural performance, durability and a unified architectural appearance.
  • The GRG interior package was produced with precise moulding and controlled finishing methods to achieve smooth surfaces and consistent detailing across underpass and lobby areas.
  • All components were manufactured under enhanced quality control procedures tailored for high visibility environments within the Masar corridor.

Execution

  • Deliveries were scheduled during low traffic periods to respect the operational sensitivity of the area and avoid disruption to pilgrims and local movement.

  • Installation followed a carefully sequenced plan that maintained continuous progress without causing site congestion.

  • Daily coordination with the main contractor and authorities ensured aligned access routes and installation timing, supporting the delivery of a major GRC and GRG package for a landmark urban corridor.
